Ahasuerus Fromanteel was a clockmaker in the 17th century who owned a modest clockmakers workshop at the Vijgendam in Amsterdam - now the Dam Square. Back in the 17th century, during the Dutch Golden Age, Fromanteel begin to manufacture a series of revolutionary clocks.
