For addresses outside the Netherlands, contact us on service@fromanteel.nl

How much time does it take to repair a watch and what are the costs?
We don’t guarantee super fast repairs, but good ones. Repairs can take 1-4 weeks time (after we’ve received the product) depending on the damage;
When a repair is not covered by warranty and when it’s clear what defect is, you will receive a price indication in advance of the repair. When it’s not clear what the defect is, we will send you a quotation after feedback is given from our atelier. It’s up to you to decide whether to go ahead with repair or not. If not, all costs made for shipping and research will have to be paid by the customer.
SPECIFICATIONS WATCH
What kind of movement does a Fromanteel watch have?
Each watch has a different movement. In our watches we use both Swiss ETA and Swiss Ronda movements. ETA was founded in 1793 and at the moment one of the world’s largest movement manufacturers in the world. However, founded later than ETA (1946), Ronda movements are of equal quality and often offer other exciting functionalities to our watches. All our movement are accurate Quartz ones and run on a battery.
How often do I need to change the battery?
Depending on your watch model and the intensity of use of the functions of the movement, a battery should run for at least 1 year and at best 5 years. Watch repair centres or jewellers can often provide that service for you. You can also choose to send the watch to us. However, service costs will be charged.
Is a Fromanteel watch water resistant?
Not a good idea. We advise to avoid contact with water while wearing your Fromanteel. The watch has a leather strap, which can be damaged when used in water. However, all our watch models have a water resistance of 5ATM which means they are splash proof and can be used in shallow water. Be advised that if the watch is used under water things such as temperature- and pressure differences might negatively affect the water resistance of your watch.
What kind of glass has a Fromanteel watch?
That is different for each model. Some use hardened mineral glass, which are lens-shaped and offer a nice dimension to your watch dial. Others are sapphire made and add up to the endurance of the watch.
How does the chronograph/stopwatch function work on my watch?
Easy. Download the instruction manual for the chronograph movement by clicking here.
Oops, my chronograph doesn’t stop at zero, what can I do?
No problem. Sometimes it happens that the chronograph doesn’t start or stop at zero. The most common reason is that the centre crown of the watch was pulled-out during normal use by your jacket sleeve or a little invisible ‘watch-gnome’ got to play with your watch when you didn’t look. Anyways, there’s a very easy way to solve this problem:
1 – Pull-out the centre crown in its first position (normally the position used to adjust the date).
2 – if you press the top pusher you’ll be able to manually adjust the hand of the counter on the right. If you press the bottom pusher, you can manually adjust the
start-position of the big chronograph hand, put it on zero again.
3 – If you pull-out the centre crown in its second position (normally the position to adjust the time) and press the top pusher, you’ll be able to manually adjust the hand of the counter on the left.
How does my Vintage1607 watch works?
The Vintage1607 watch is equipped with a world timer function. This function was first introduced into a watch during the early years of civil aviation. Back then people were given an instrument to compare time in different time zones. This is how it is used:
Start at the time zone where you are at this moment, for The Netherlands it’s ‘Paris’. Now, take a look at what time it is and use the left crown to position the time zone ring. If the actual time is 12 o’clock at night, move the black 24 on to Paris. You can now see what time it is in different parts of the world, for instance it’s six (18 hrs.) o’clock in the afternoon in New York, time to prepare for a night out in town.
Sometimes I hear a rattling sound in my Vintage1607 watch. Is this a defect?
No, it’s not a defect - this is actually quite all right. We’ve made the Vintage1607 according to the vintage world timers of the 1950’s (hence the name). That means that we also use some of the retro technology of that era and made the time zone ring mechanical. Which means the time zone ring needs a little bit of slack, or better – room – to operate and that’s what you hear.
Do you guys know what time it is?
Not wearing your Fromanteel? Ok, then have a look here.
